    Hi Pac-Mad Families,

I hope you’re all safe, healthy, and finding some roses among the thorns. As we adjust to this surreal new reality, part of that transition will be the shift to online learning.  With that in mind, I wanted to inform everyone of how to wrap up Quarter 3 for Language Arts class.

Most important, please check FamilyLink as soon as possible to know where you currently stand. Grades are up to date, and I will not be assigning any new work for Quarter 3. Our three most recent assignments that will count are…

    • Scrawl Socratic Seminar

      1. If you were absent for your seminar, check Google Classroom for the alternative assignment options.
      2. If you did not turn in your packet, please email photos of pgs. 2-3 to me.

    • Scrawl Final Quiz

      1. Got your quiz back and need a retake? Use this Quiz Repairs Sheet and email it to me as a picture or PDF attachment when complete.

    • Independent Reading Homework
      1. Assignment #2 was due on March 16th.
        1. Did you go above and beyond and turn it in on time from home? You got a bonus point!
        2. Haven’t turned it in yet? Please email it to me as an attachment.
      2. Reminder: Reading Homework #3 will be due in Google Classroom on Monday, April 6th.

    • Extra Credit: I also want to acknowledge that not all revisions are possible given the closure. Therefore, I’m offering the following options for extra credit (5 summative points possible):
      1. Make your own Kahoot! for Scrawl or your indie reading book with 10-12 thoughtful comprehension questions. Share the link with me.
      2. In Google Docs, rewrite a key scene from Scrawl from a different character’s perspective. Use all the great story techniques we’ve practiced (dialogue/ internal monologue, setting descriptions, specific character actions, literary devices, etc). Share it with me.
      3. Draw a comic showing how a key theme from Scrawl or your own indie reading book plays out. Use illustration, speech and thought bubbles, and narrative captions. Can be illustrated by hand or digitally.  Email it to me.

I want to be conscientious to those who just received technology from our school district today and may be logging on for the first time since the closure.  Accordingly, all late work, revisions, and extra credit are due next Wednesday, April 8th. Teachers will submit Q3 grades on April 10th.

As always, I’m just an email away if you have any questions.

Take care of yourselves and of each other.

    All my best,

    Mrs. Knipe
