Meet the Teacher
Hello Lowrie community!
My name is Mrs Ikeda, pronounced approximately “ee-KAY-dah,” and this will be my second year at Lowrie. I came to WLWV from the Beaverton SD and before that I taught college courses at the State University of New York at Buffalo. My family and I moved to Lake Oswego from the Buffalo area 6 years ago and we absolutely love it here. I enjoy spending time exploring Oregon with my family and doing my hobbies like painting, crocheting, and photography. I also rarely turn down the opportunity to play volleyball or dance. Oh, and I like to wear fun socks, they make me smile.
Something you should know about me is that by far my favorite activity is reading. I carry books with me everywhere. I love to tell everyone about good books I’ve read, and to hear about their favorites too. Some of my newest favorites: The Last Apprentice - Revenge of the Witch, which turned out to be way creepier than expected but very, very good. It's ok for 5th graders if you don't mind creepy. The New Kid - great graphic novel that won the Newberry award!!! And the Winterhouse trilogy, a series of slightly supernatural mysteries in a hotel setting.
What about you? What are some of your favorites? I’d love to add your favorites to my list of “books to read.”
The best way to contact me is by email, at email@example.com.
