OHSU COVID-19 Program
-
The West Linn-Wilsonville School District is partnering with OHSU this year to offer free, optional, weekly COVID-19 testing for students. Participation in this program is completely optional and offered regardless of vaccination status. Participating students will drop off spit samples in pre-labeled tubes at school each week, whether they have symptoms or not. If a student tests positive the family will be contacted by an OHSU nurse.
How to Enroll
Interested families can enroll their student(s) today through OHSU’s online portal: https://www.labfinder.com/ohsu. If families experience difficulties signing up please call OHSU support at 503-418-8500. All interested students must enroll even if they participated in the program last year. The program will begin during the week of September 26.
What Does Testing Include?
This OHSU Program utilizes highly accurate molecular testing, known as PCR, in the form of spit testing that takes place at home. Spit tests can be collected either the night before or the morning of the student’s testing day. Students will bring their completed test to school every Thursday. If a student misses their weekly testing day, tests can be dropped off at one of three drop-off sites around the Portland Metro area.
OHSU will mail participating students the testing supplies, pre-labeled test tubes with a scannable barcode, and testing instructions within a week of enrollment. The school will let participating families know when the school testing day has been determined, which can also be found by visiting https://www.ohsu.edu/k12testing. Families will receive an email when test results are available every week, prompting parents to log into the OSHU online portal at https://www.labfinder.com/ohsu.
