Cross Country and Track
I coach cross country and track at Rosemont Ridge Middle School. These sports are a lot of fun. We mix hard work and play, and focus on participating and growing stronger in our hearts, minds and bodies.
Cross Country: Open to 6, 7 and 8 grade girls and boys. No experience necessary. Eight week season early September thru late October. Practice each school day from 4-5 pm. (We’re flexible if you have other commitments.) No weekends. Five meets with a big district championship at the end of the season just before Halloween.
Track and Field: Open to 6, 7 and 8 grade girls and boys. No experience necessary. Seven week season from late March after Spring Break thru mid-May. Practice each school day from 4-5 pm. (We’re flexible if you have other commitments.) No weekends. Six dual meets against area middle schools with a big district championship meet at the end of the season.
For both sports an activity bus can take athletes home after practices, as well as back to RRMS after meets.
Keys to success:
- Wear appropriate shoes.
- Dress for the weather.
- Drink water.
- Warm up and cool down as trained.
- Communicate with coaches about injuries and practice/meet conflicts.
