My husband and I have one little boy, Clark, who just turned two in August. He is a very happy, "busy", and social little boy. We also welcomed our second child, a daughter, in December 2019 named Juliette. She is the sweetest and most cuddly baby. We also adopted a pandemic puppy in November 2020. My husband is a Chemical Engineer and grew up in Iowa. He wrestled at Iowa State University and helped coach wrestling for many years at Lincoln High School in Portland. Our family loves spending time in the outdoors. We enjoy hiking, having picnics, or enjoying time at the zoo.
I was born and raised in Oregon. I love Cannon Beach, hiking in the gorge, and the beautiful fall weather. This will be my eighth year at Athey Creek Middle School and my 13th year teaching.  I am thrilled to be teaching 7th grade Math and Science during the upcoming 2020-2021 school year!  I attended Oregon State University majoring in General Science with a minor in Chemistry and an option in pre-education.  I went on further to obtain my Masters of Arts in Teaching at Lewis and Clark College with an emphasis on science and mathematics education.  I moved to Arizona in 2008 and taught both math and science for 5 years in Arizona.  I took a leap of faith and moved back to Oregon in late June 2013.  I taught 8th grade math and science at Athey Creek during the 2013-2014 school year and 6th grade Math during the next five school years.  I taught 6th and 7th grade Math during the 2019-2020 school year. I have taught a variety of learners from Gifted classes to credit recovery classes.   I am very excited for this new year and love living in the beautiful state of Oregon!
