Dr. Sơn Lê Hughes has served as Chief Financial Officer for the West Linn-Wilsonville School District since 2018. With over 25 years of experience in finance, budgeting, and accounting, she oversees the district’s financial operations, including budgeting, investments, and long-term financial planning. 

Prior to joining the district, Dr. Hughes held leadership roles at the University of Oregon and taught accounting at Bushnell University. She holds a B.S. in Accounting, an MBA, and a Ph.D. in Education with a focus on Finance and Accounting.

The Accounting Team plays a key role in maintaining the financial integrity of the West Linn-Wilsonville School District. Led by the Chief Financial Officer, the team manages financial reporting, accounting, grant management, and internal controls. They ensure compliance with regulations, provide financial guidance to schools and departments, and work closely with vendors and auditors to safeguard district resources.

Under the direction of the Chief Financial Officer, the Payroll & Benefits Team ensures accurate and timely payroll processing and benefit administration for all district staff. Dedicated to service, accuracy, and confidentiality, the team supports employees with questions about compensation, leave, retirement, and insurance. They also work closely with Human Resources and other departments to help maintain smooth and efficient operations across the district.
