Printing and Copying

All new copiers include a pull-out keyboard beneath the touchscreen. The keyboard makes it easier to:

• Rename scanned files
• Enter email addresses
• Search the district directory
• Use advanced scanning features

The new copiers include a built-in electric stapler for loose pages.

To staple a document:

1. Locate the bright green staple indicator light on the finishing unit.
2. Insert your stack of papers into the stapling slot.
3. Hold the papers in place for approximately 2 seconds.
4. The light will begin blinking and the copier will staple the document.

The stapler can accommodate approximately 65 sheets at a time.

All new district ID badges are programmed to work with the copier badge readers.

Badge authentication allows you to:

• Access copier functions
• Use one-touch scanning
• Release Secure Print jobs

A brightly colored sticker on the copier indicates where to tap your badge.

If you forget your badge, you can sign in using your Employee ID number.

The copiers have 3-hole punch capability.

In "Printer Properties", select the "Finishing" tab, and dropdown "Punch" to "3 Holes"

When you press the Scan button, your district email address is automatically populated.

We strongly recommend scanning documents to yourself first, even if you intend to forward them to another recipient. This provides several benefits:

• You retain a copy in your Sent Items folder.
• You have a record of when the document was sent.
• If the recipient misplaces the document, you can resend it without rescanning the original paper copy.

If you need to send a document directly to another employee, the new Global Address Search makes it easy to send scans directly to any district employee. Instead of searching through or maintaining an address book, you can simply search by name and select the recipient.

If you do not want to send the scan to yourself:

1. Tap the X next to your email address.
2. Select Global Address Search.
3. Search by first name, last name, or part of a name.
4. Select the desired recipient.

You may also manually enter an email address using the pull-out keyboard.

The new PaperCut Scan button provides additional scanning options.

When you print to the Secure Print on Print queue, your document will not print immediately.

Instead, your print job is encrypted and held securely until you arrive at a copier and release it using your ID badge or Employee ID number.

If a copier is busy or unavailable, you can release your print job at any other district copier.

• Release print jobs from any district copier
• Reduced paper waste from forgotten print jobs
• Less waiting at busy copiers
• Print availability when traveling between schools

1. Click the ^ (Show hidden icons) button next to the clock in your system tray.
2. Click the green PaperCut icon.
3. Select View My Printers.

    

4. Select Add Printers.
5. Search for your location (for example, WVHS).
6. Click Install next to the printer or copier you would like to add.

    

This approach allows each user to install only the printers they need instead of maintaining a large list of printers that may never be used.
