My name is Brooke Murphy. I am a second grade teacher at Cedaroak Park Primary. I grew up in Michigan and moved to Oregon after graduating from Western Michigan University. I got a Masters in Teaching from City University in Washington. Afterward I worked as a long term substitute in the school where I did my student teaching in Vancouver, Washington. I spent the next two years teaching on a small island in Alaska called St. George Island. It was a small community of native Alaskans in the Bering Sea where I not only taught all the kindergarten through fourth grade students in one classroom, but I was also the principal of the school. It was a once in a lifetime experience. After returning to Oregon I taught second grade for one year in the North Clackamas School District before coming to Cedaroak. Since joining the staff 12 years ago I have married my husband Ryan and now have two children who attend Cedaroak.
