• Welcome to Ms. Chapman's website.

    Ms. Chapman backpacking

Hola! My name is Ms. Chapman. This is my second year teaching at Rosemont Ridge and I am thrilled to be a part of this amazing community. I teach social studies because I'm passionate about students learning to understand and respect other cultures in order to become more informed, responsible global citizens. I love Spanish as well, and am excited to get to teach Spanish and Social Studies in the Dual Language Program!

I attended George Fox University and graduated with a B.A. in History and earned my MAT at Willamette University in 2007. I have lived and worked in many places, including: Pennsylvania, Alaska, Colorado, California, Rwanda, and most recently, I spent 3.5 years in Guatemala working for a relief and development organization as a Country Director.

I enjoy running (I was lucky to run a real half-marathon in Idaho this summer during COVID), reading novels, traveling, spending time at the beach with my 3 daughters, baking, and eating all types of ethnic foods. This summer I spent a lot of time hiking and backpacking all over Oregon, and learning how to garden. My daughters and I also got to visit Washington DC.

I have 3 daughters who attend a dual-immersion program in another district, and I'm passionate about and committed to language learning. I am here to do everything I can to make this year a successful one for each student, so please never hesitate to talk to me with any concerns or questions.

For now, with Distance Learning, everything will be on Google Classroom, so head there for assignments, lessons, and feedback. We will be embracing a Modern Classroom approach to learning. If you have any questions about what this means, or for more information, check out the website modernclassrooms.org, or send me an email.

We can do this! Let's have a great year!
