In this media arts class, students will explore the skills of a multimedia storyteller and content creating artist. Using cutting edge software, professional cameras and industry standard tools, students will explore aspects of digital storytelling, reporting, photography and social media to consider the artistic and design skills of content creators. Students will design using multimedia technology and storytelling skills with an intent to publish and engage an audience. Students will then create a portfolio which will evidence their mastery of basic design skills for print, social media and online publication. This CTE course is a prerequisite for students wanting to join a school publication staff. It will prepare students to contribute to the yearbook, newspaper, newsmagazine, online, broadcast or literary arts magazine as well as establishing real-world skills for use in a variety of professional art and communication fields
