This course is designed for the student whose interest and abilities lie in the backstage aspects of theatre. Actors as well as non-actors may enroll and expect to learn a wide range of technical theatre elements, including basic set and lighting design, costume and make-up design, sound and properties design, scenic painting, and construction. Emphasis will be placed on an original conceptual design of Shakespeare’s Hamlet. Taking this course also provides and advantage for students who may wish to work as a crew member on a school production.
