PLAYWRITING - 5686

Credits/Semesters: 0.5 credit/1 semester

Grade: 10, 11, 12

Prerequisite: None

Some of the stories we have to tell are so comical, so tragic, so…dramatic that they really beg to be acted out on the stage. In this course, students will have the opportunity to craft theatrical literature, focusing on story, plot, conflict, character and dialogue.  Students will be expected to read and analyze a variety of plays written between the late 19th century and now. The objective will be to complete a short play that can be presented as a staged reading.
