This course takes a deeper dive into the world of healthcare. It allows for deeper exploration of various health careers. Topics include: types of healthcare, healthcare ethics, workplace safety, ergonomics, stress management, Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), infection prevention, bloodborne pathogens, and communication/professionalism in healthcare. This class will also introduce students to common medical equipment. Students who successfully complete this class will obtain their basic life support/CPR/First Aid certification through American Heart Association (AHA).
