Welcome from Principal Nic Chapin

Welcome to Riverside High School, Home of the Raptors!
Riverside is the newest comprehensive high school in the West Linn-Wilsonville School District. We opened in the Fall of 2023. One unique aspect of Riverside is that we are a school of choice for all students within the district. My name is Nic Chapin and I am the Principal of our new high school and I am working alongside Carey Wilhelm, who is our interim Assistant Principal at Riverside. We look forward to engaging with prospective students and families at upcoming community meetings, at middle school and high school events, and through regular communication updates. Please come say “hi” when you see us!
Riverside High School is located at 2900 SW Borland Rd Tualatin. We are excited about our high school campus, which will maintain a smaller school feel while providing students with ample opportunities to find their passions.
We have launched our new school with Career Technical Education (CTE) programs, including Health Sciences, Business and Marketing, and Construction and Architecture. Our music, visual arts, and performing arts programs as well as world languages provide opportunities for students to develop their voices and explore their passions.
We offer some OSAA athletic options each season, some of which are only be offered at the junior varsity and freshman levels during the 2023-2024 school year. Programs will be expanded and added as we continue to grow in the number of students and facilities over time. Working with student voices and interests, we will design clubs and activities to support every member of our community being engaged and connected!
When students choose Riverside, they are choosing to be part of a unique opportunity within our district. Ninth- and tenth-grade students will either be the first graduating class at Riverside or the first four-year class at Riverside.
In addition to exciting new opportunities, students will be participating in leadership positions that are usually reserved for juniors and seniors. Students are part of building our school’s culture and identity and will play an instrumental role in creating traditions that will be followed by thousands of students in the future. We are incredibly excited to work with the first student body of Riverside High School and look forward to creating a school where students feel welcomed and included in our new community.
We look forward to making connections and answering as many questions as we can.
Sincerely,
Nic Chapin, Principal and Carey Wilhelm, Assistant Principal
