• Welcome to 5th Grade

    Meet the Teachers:

    Steve Jones

I was born in California, raised in Oregon, got my first teaching job in California, and am now back in Oregon–teaching at Cedaroak since 2006.  (I am an Oregonian.)

I earned my undergraduate degree at the University of Oregon in 1996 and my Masters of Arts in Teaching at Oregon State University.  (I am a Duck.)

I was married in 2000.  (Cindy teaches seventh grade Science at Rosemont.)

We adopted our one and only son, Simon, in December 2009.  (He goes to Cedaroak!)

My family lives in Eugene, and Cindy’s family lives in Astoria. (Two hours each way.)

My goal as an educator is to help students become sufficiently accomplished that they have the power to give to their world in anyway they choose.

    Tracy Meurisse

I was born and raised in California, but I came to Oregon for College (Willamette Univeristy - Go Bearcats!).

After graduating from Willamette with a degree in psychology in 1994, I earned my Masters of Arts in Teaching at Lewis & Clark College in 1995.

I started teaching in the fall of 1995 in Beaverton, but came to Cedaroak Park in 2003.

My husband, Sean and I have two children. Lucas (born in 2005) and Chloe (born in 2008). They attend school in the Beaverton School District (We live in Raleigh Hills)

My goal as an educator is to instill the love of learning in each child so that they will each become passionate about exploring any avenue they choose.
