Principal's message

Dear Lowrie families,

With Thanksgiving break next week, everyone at Lowrie has been reflecting on what they are thankful for. In different classrooms I have visited this week, I have been able to observe lessons and activities focused on gratitude and as you walk into our school, you can see a bulletin board where staff post messages of gratitude. Expressing gratitude doesn’t just make others feel good- it improves our own well being, reduces stress and builds resilience- for children and adults.

With this break approaching, I want each of you to know how grateful I am to join the Lowrie community this year. Our educators have a deep commitment, great expertise and good humor which they bring to their work each day. Our students are curious, kind, insightful and come to school eager to learn. The support from our community has been tremendous in supporting your children to be ready to learn each day and the care you show for all children at Lowrie. I feel so fortunate to be able to be a part of this community and for the warm welcome I have received. I am grateful to be a part of this community!

I hope you have a wonderful break with family and friends and look forward to seeing everyone when children return to school on November 28th.

With thanks,
