• Get Ready for the Turkey Trot!

    What’s a Turkey Trot?

WHAT: On November 22nd your student will take part in a Challenge Course during the school day. This event addresses the ever growing need to foster healthy habits in our community. They will join their Turkey class in generating Turkey Trot Spirit and then navigating through crazy obstacles set on the cross country course around the track finishing with a special challenge from the teachers. They’ll use their bodies and minds to make it to the end.  They also coordinate with their Turkey class to pick a 'theme' for their class, pick out coordinating costumes and come up with a cheer or a song. Using their food donations they build a structure together.  This builds great school spirit.

HOW: Where does the profit come from? The kids are asked to collect donations in their envelopes. There are also a variety of Class Prizes they can earn.

GOAL: The event replaced the school magazine drive AND the fun run that have taken place in years’ past. This money directly feeds your child’s education in the forms of technology, art, literature, physical education and countless other needs.  Another part of this fund-raiser is community awareness.  We are asking for students to bring in non-perishable foodstuffs which will then be donated to our local community food bank.  Last year we had so much to donate the Oregon food bank had to bring two trucks!

We Need Volunteers!! If you would like to help out on this very fun event, we would love to have you.
