Meet Our ACMS Wellness Teachers!
This is my seventh year teaching at ACMS and eight years total (My first year I was at St. Helens MS). I went to Oregon State University for my undergraduate and graduate degrees in Exercise Sports Science. I grew up in Eugene, Oregon. This makes me a platypus (I root for the Beavers and the Ducks). Hobbies of mine include; hiking, swimming, running, biking and hanging out with family. My family consists of my husband Cameron, my oldest son Ezra, youngest son Miles and a six year old mini schnauzer named Gus. My favorite aspect of teaching wellness is to be able to help my students find a lifetime activity that they can enjoy and will continue into adulthood. Thank you for your support and encouragement of our wellness program!
I have had the pleasure of teaching Wellness at Athey Creek since 2012. I received my degree in Community Health from Portland State (Go Viks!!). I moved up to Portland from Long Beach, California to attend PSU and fell in love with Oregon. My Wife and I have three little ones and we all love the outdoors. Hiking, camping, and water sports are a few of our favorites. I also enjoy reading, cooking, weight lifting, swimming, cycling, running, and just about anything active. Wellness is my passion. I love that I get to equip my students with the skills to make positive choices that will impact their health for their lifetime.
