PTSA's Mission - Stafford Primary's PTSA mission is to strengthen parent/teacher/student communication and education through newsletters, workshops, events, and activities. The PTSA's goal is to enrich the educational environment in order to assist the school in stimulating our students into becoming creative thinkers and problem solvers who strive to reach their maximum potential now and throughout their lives.
What is PTSA?
Parent Teacher Student Association (PTSA) is a local unit of the National PTA and includes all members who pay the annual fee to join. The Stafford PTSA Board is run by an Executive Committee, including a President, two Vice Presidents, Secretary, and Treasurer.
Committee Chairs on the Board include Membership/Annual Fund, Community Service/Legislative, Newsletter, Publicity/Historian, Volunteer Coordinator, Apparel, Art Lit, Garden Upkeep, Website, Scrip, Box Tops, Directory, and Cartridge/Cell Phone recycling. PTSA also includes the Principal and a Teacher Representative.
What does the PTSA do at Stafford?
PTSA funds about $45,000 worth of programs and equipment that our students would not experience without this support. How does PTSA raise the funds to support these programs?PTSA strives to provide a variety of ways for families to support the PTSA financially, without traditional school fundraising programs like gift wrap and cookie dough sales.
These are PTSA's core fundraising programs:
Annual Fund: A fund that parents voluntarily donate to each year. This fund pays for most of PTSA’s programs. You will receive information about Annual Fund in the fall.
Auction: Every three to five years the PTSA holds an auction to supplement the annual fundraising.
Spring Socials: Held every year that PTSA doesn’t hold an auction. Funds are generated for special projects, like new books for the library and classrooms or new playground equipment.
Scrip: Local merchants donate a percentage of your purchases to our school. This is a great way to earn money for our school without having to donate personal funds.
Cell Phone Recycling, Box Tops, and Apparel sales.
How does one get involved?
There are many ways to get involved with PTSA. In the fall, you will receive a PTSA Volunteer form where you can sign up to help with an area that interests you.
I hope you will join PTSA and donate to the Annual Fund to help fund all of the great things the PTSA does at Stafford.
Feel free to send an email or give them a call - They would be happy to talk with you more about our incredible PTSA!For more information, please visit our site here: http://www2.stafps.wlwv.k12.or.us/ptsa/home
