WEST LINN MIDDLE SCHOOL WRESTLING

You are invited to participate in middle school wrestling. Wrestling is open to all middle school boys and girls at all skill levels (beginner to advanced). Everyone is welcome! We will have a combined team from both Rosemont Ridge and Athey Creek Middle Schools. If participation numbers warrant, we will split the teams to represent individual schools but will not know this until mid/late December. 

Practices: Practices are held from 4-5:30pm Monday-Thursday in the commons area at Rosemont Ridge Middle School. Practice begins Wednesday, January 3, 2024. Our season will conclude at the end of February 2024.

Competitions: Wrestlers will compete in meets at area middle schools. Expect one meet per week. Wrestlers typically wrestle three matches at each meet.

Gear: Wrestling uniforms are provided for competitions. Uniforms are UFC style fight shorts and compression shirts. Singlets are no longer required. Wrestlers need wrestling shoes and headgear for competitions and practices. Wrestlers should come to every practice wearing shorts, t-shirt, wrestling shoes, and headgear. Wrestlers who have braces will be required to wear a mouth guard.  

Cost: Cost to participate for the season is $100. If registration cost is a barrier to participation, please contact the WL Wrestling Booster Club for scholarship information.

Transportation: Transportation will be provided from Rosemont Ridge Middle School to each competition for drop off only. Parents are responsible for providing transportation home from competition. Due to having a combined team, there is no transportation provided from Athey Creek Middle School to Rosemont Ridge for practices. Bus transportation is provided home from practices via the activity bus that leaves Rosemont Ridge Middle School daily at 5:15pm; this is for both AC and RR student athletes. 

Sign up: To sign up for middle school wrestling, please fill out the registration and waiver form. Turn them into the office or bring them to the first practice along with payment. Please make checks payable to: West Linn Wrestling Booster Club. Registration paperwork and signed waiver are required prior to participation in practice or competition. You can get registration paperwork in the front office.

Communication: Please download and join our Middle School Wrestling Group on Bandapp. We will use this as our primary source of communications with student athletes and their families.
