  • NEW ATHEY CREEK MIDDLE SCHOOL ON DOLLAR STREET – PROJECT UPDATE

Posted by West Linn - Wilsonville School District on 8/20/2021

    Entry Rendering

Land Use documents were submitted to the City Planning Department in March and the initial Completeness was received on April 16th.  The Land Use process has continued over the summer with the initial hearing, followed by subsequent hearings and findings.  The final hearing was held on August 18th which ended in a vote by the Planning Commission.  The Planning Commissioners voted to approve the application with conditions.

Updated conceptual renderings of the main entry, as shown above, as well as the bus entry and interior spaces can be found on the bond website.

The project documents have been completed and submitted to the Building Department for Permit.  The District has received the first round of comments back from the Building Department and is responding.  It is anticipated that the Permitting and Land Use processes will converge in a timely manner to allow Contractor bidding to begin in the fall.

The District has engaged with a Furnishings Fixtures & Equipment (FF&E) vendor and has begun the process of furniture selection.  These selections are all based on the final interior color palette selections, which were also finalized over the summer.

The District continues to partner with City of West Linn in developing Street Improvements surrounding the site.  Street improvements will occur on Dollar Street, Willamette Falls Drive, and the newly created Brandon Place Extension.  Final coordination efforts are nearing completion to allow right of way improvements to be submitted to the City in the fall.

  • WHS Performing Arts Center Project Underway

Posted by West Linn - Wilsonville School District on 7/26/2021

Over the last year, in conjunction with internal and external stakeholders, WLWV has been hard at work designing the new Wilsonville High School Performing Arts Center. During the bidding process, Todd Construction was the successful general contractor for the work. Work has started today, July 26th.

The first part of the construction includes site utility work and reconstruction of the main entrance into the Wilsonville High School Site. This initial preparation work will last through the rest of the summer. Once school is back in session work will be focused on the new auditorium addition through the Fall of 2022.

In support of the initial site and utility work the main entrance to Wilsonville High School will be CLOSED for the duration of the summer. Access to the school during this time will be through the Boeckman Creek Primary School driveway and parking lot and building access through the high school rear courtyard entrance doors. Please follow signage on site. If you need additional assistance with entry into the site or building, phone numbers for the school’s main office and the Family Empowerment Center will also be posted. The district recognizes the inconvenience this temporary traffic revision will have on the public who will be accessing the site for various activities and is working with the construction team to minimize impact during and keep the duration of this closure as short as possible. Thank you for your understanding during this time.

As construction ramps up, additional updates will be provided as site conditions change and construction milestones reached.

Questions can be directed to the Project Manager:

  • WLHS Stadium Project

Posted by West Linn - Wilsonville School District on 6/14/2021
We have two updates to share regarding the West Linn High School Stadium Project.

Considerable progress has been made in clearing out the site for the new parking lot. Fabric and the first layer of rock is being installed at areas where finish grade has already been met. Excavation for the new plaza adjacent the existing stadium has begun. The track is being protected during this process to allow for heavy equipment to access the stadium for improvements.

We would also like to remind the community that the entire track and field area are closed to the school and to the public during construction.

This closure will extend through the summer and into the early fall for public safety. Closure signs have been posted around the site to remind community members and the district asks that the public observe the closure during construction. Thank you for your patience and partnership as we complete these improvements that will serve the greater community for years to come.

  • Safety Upgrades Highlight Summer Bond Project Progress

Posted by West Linn-Wilsonville on 8/21/2020

The Athey Creek Middle School Track was resurfaced this summer.   Rosemont Ridge Middle School is receiving several safety upgrades this summer.

Thanks to the support of the West Linn-Wilsonville community, several construction projects from the 2019 Capital Bond are wrapping up this summer.

Bond projects include security upgrades at Boones Ferry Primary, Cedaroak Park Primary, Stafford Primary, and Rosemont Ridge Middle School. Secure entryways have been designed and configured at schools throughout the district as we continue to improve safety for students. Entryways are designed to include lockdown hardware in the event of emergencies and better control how and when individuals enter school buildings, funneling all visitors through the main office entrance. Construction is expected to be complete in the coming weeks.

Other 2019 summer bond projects include a new track replacement at Athey Creek Middle School, the installation of new carpet and vinyl flooring for classrooms and support spaces at Stafford Primary, and mechanical replacements and upgrades at West Linn High School and Wood Middle School. Design of air conditioning installation at Bolton Primary, Cedaroak Park Primary, Stafford Primary, and Willamette Primary is also underway, including improvements to other life cycle replacement work. Air conditioning is expected to be added to the district’s remaining schools next summer, 2021. Boones Ferry Primary received several upgrades this summer.

While no construction for the major bond projects outlined in the 2019 Capital Bond is scheduled for the imminent future, planning and design is well underway for many. This summer, the district has held several community engagement meetings for the New Athey Creek Middle School at Dollar Street bond project and the Stadium and Parking Improvement bond project at West Linn High School.

To read more about 2019 Capital Bond progress, please read the last Quarterly Report on the Bond Oversight Committee webpage.
