Performance Conflicts
-
If you have a legitimate conflict with a performance date, you must submit a request to miss that performance AT LEAST TWO WEEKS prior to the performance in order to have it excused
Not all conflicts will be considered a valid excuse for missing a performance. A missed concert, no matter the reason, will automatically lower the grade 50 points. Excused concerts (in case of pre-arranged absence or illness) can be made up for full credit.
Band is a performing art, and concerts and performances are an extension of the classroom. Our ultimate goal in band is to perform, so it is essential that students be present at all performances.
That being said, if there is an emergency that prohibits concert attendance, please make every effort to contact Mr. Uldall before the concert.
Students and parents are expected to stay for the entirety of each performance. It is disrespectful to the other musicians and their families to leave early. All musicians deserve to have a full audience.
