Hi!  Thank you for visiting my webpage!  My name is Jennifer Stout and I am the 6th grade Science teacher at Merdian Creek Middle School!  This will be my tenth year teaching total, and my fourth year teaching here at Meridian.  I have always been passionate about science, especially life science, and before becoming a teacher I majored in Zoology at the University of California Santa Barbara.  I really enjoy teaching sixth grade science especially because, for many of my students, it is their first "real" science class.  I believe my job as a science teacher is to foster my students' natural curiosity and excitement in the sciences, while helping them develop their skills in problem-solving, critical thinking, and collaboration.  Outside of teaching I have two young children of my own: my son, Sawyer, is 6.5 years old, and my daughter, Aspen, is 3.5!  When I am not teaching I enjoy camping, hiking, swimming, and exploring outside with my family!
