•  Hello Students, Parents and Community Members,

I am looking forward to a great year teaching sixth and seventh grade Wellness.  This is my 18th year of teaching and I am excited to welcome new and returning students. I am thankful to be a part of such a supportive and kind community of learners and am so glad you have chosen to be a part of our school.

I am looking forward to meeting each of you as we embark on the beginning of the school year. We will begin our school year with a variety of teambuilding sports and activities. The Wellness department will utilize the Sport Education teaching model which gives students the opportunity to work in teams on a consistent basis and take a more in-depth look at techniques and tactics for various sports and fitness activities. I am really looking forward to spending much of our class time outdoors. Our first units will include team handball and birdieball golf.

This will be a great year and I am truly looking forward to helping students become physically fit and develop healthy active lifestyles. Throughout the year, students will have the opportunity to learn strategies  related to fitness, teamwork, individual sports skills, small and large group cooperative games and many more exciting skills and activities. Each grade level will also spend time focusing on health-related topics ranging from personal fitness and wellness to drug and alcohol awareness, tobacco education, injury prevention and much more.  I anticipate a fun-filled active year!

Aside from teaching, I love spending time outdoors with my husband and two children. We spent the summer visiting National parks, camping and hiking. Below you can see a few pictures from our adventures. When I am not at school, you can find me coaching my kiddos' soccer teams and cheering them on during basketball and softball season.
