Required Materials

Materials are required for every rehearsal.

1. Instrument – Cases MUST have an ID tag. 

2. Shoulder Rest – (violin/viola only)

   Cello strap/Rock stop – (cello only)

(You can purchase at Violin Quartet Shop or through Ms. Bates)

3. 1” binder – with all sheet music and hand-outs from class

Notebooks will be collected and graded every two weeks.

4. Pencil (NOT a pen)

Keep a designated “orchestra pencil” in your instrument case or binder

5. Method Book (you can purchase at Violin Quartet Shop or Amazon)

  6th grade: Orchestra Expressions bk. 1

  7th/8th: Essential Technique 2000 for Strings Book 2

6. Supplies

Rosin, soft cloth, extra strings (highly recommended)

7. Music stand (you can purchase at Violin Quartet Shop or Amazon)

For home practice (folding is fine)
