General Enrichment Information
Enrichment classes are offered several times a year. Parents will be notified about new classes offered and when to sign up in our weekly email, News From the Ridge. Sign up to receive weekly emails by clicking on the Listserv Self-service link at the top of the home page. You will want to sign up for the RRMS Homes distribution list. Also subscribe to the RRMS 20XX list (the year will be the year of your child's high school graduation).
Fall Enrichment offerings--2018
Most classes begin the week of 9/17
Continue to develop your skills on stringed instruments. Our chamber orchestra will work on more challenging musical pieces. We will meet Wednesday and Friday mornings from 8:15-9:00. (Fee $50) See Ms. G with questions.
Learn new workout techniques to safely develop strength and flexibility. We meet twice a week. See Mr. P with questions.
(Wednesday and Friday in the main gym 8:15-9:00 --Fee $50) 7th and 8th grade ONLY. Begins Sept. 12th
Join our competitive First Lego Robotics teams. Develop and refine your skills with building, programming and problem solving. This team meets twice a week. (Meets Tuesday and Thursday 3:45-5:00 in the Maker Space Fee: $100) Application required--see front office.
Science Bowl Team Do you love science? Do you love competition and games like Jeopardy? Then Science Bowl is for you! Science Bowl is an academic competition that allows students to demonstrate knowledge of many aspects of science including biology, chemistry, physics, environmental science, and even math! We will also have the opportunity to send a small team to compete against other schools at the BPA Regional Science Bowl at University of Portland in February. Sixth, seventh, and eighth graders are all welcome.Space is limited to 25 students. Fee is $50. Science Bowl meets Thursdays from 3:45-5:00 p.m. in Ms. Van Hook’s room (C106). Our first meeting will be September 13th and the last session will be January 31st. We will NOT meet on the following dates: October 11th, November 22nd, December 27th and January 3rd.
Learn to paint with watercolors. Create some amazing works of art with friends. (Wednesday 3:45-5:00 in Library--Fee $25)

Learn that fast and challenging sport. You will form teams and scrimmage with each other. If there is enough interest we will join a league this spring. Come dressed for a workout. (Mondays 3:45-5:00--Fee $25) Meet in commons.
Be a part of the team that creates our school yearbook. You will have the opportunity to be photographer, graphic designer and editor. At the end of the year you will be amazed by the professional publication you will have produced. All grade levels are welcome. (Wednesday 3:45-5:00 in the Library--Fee $25) See Ms. Koslowski with questions. (Limit: 10 students) Applications available in the front office.
