Hello! I am so excited for this school year, which I'm sure will be a year full of growth and achieving your academic goals. I am so grateful to be teaching at RRMS because of the wonderful, caring community of people here. I am looking forward to getting to know you!
This is my fourth year at RRMS, and I love it! I graduated from Linfield College (Go Wildcats!) with a major in English Literature and a minor in Secondary Education. I love teaching Language Arts because it is a subject where we get to view how people experience the world differently through literature. Literature gives us the ability to connect with ideas and experiences that are familiar to us, but also to explore ideas and experiences that are foreign to us. There is nothing quite like getting lost in a good book! Language Arts is also a subject that gives us the opportunity to express our ideas through writing and discussion.
In my class, you can expect to work hard, but also have a lot of fun! We will all work diligently towards achieving our academic goals and creating a strong class community. My hope is that each of you will gain confidence and strength in your reading and writing. I could not be more excited for all the wonderful ideas and personalities you will bring to my classroom.
