• WHS BOYS SOCCER SUMMER/FALL 2024 (updated August 19th) 


    1)  Fall season sports registration.. This is completely separate from the conditioning camp. PLEASE make sure to register on the computer through the school website. https://www.wlwv.k12.or.us/site/default.aspx?PageID=1169   

    ALL athletes must clear the registration process before participating in tryouts starting Aug 19th

    2) TRYOUT INFORMATION - Mandatory tryouts begin on Monday August 19th: There will be two tryout sessions on each tryout day... a JV tryout session and a varsity tryout session (on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday). Athletes are expected to show up ALL three tryout days. For those athletes that would like to try out for varsity, please show up to the varsity tryout time. Those that wish to only tryout for one of our sub-varsity teams should show up for the JV tryout time. We will have conversations with student athletes after each session and advise them if they should show up to the other session on the next evening (JV or varsity). Teams will be announced at the end of the Wednesday sessions and practice for each team will start on Thursday Aug 22nd.

    -JV Tryout time: 5:30 - 7:15pm on the JV field behind the stadium

    -Varsity Tryout time: 7:30 - 9:30pm on the JV field behind the stadium

    3) Player "cuts": With the number of athletes that we have on our radar, it appears that we will need to make player cuts this year. We have 4 teams and 80+ athletes potentially trying out for teams. These are never easy decisions for coaches and are always a difficult situation to navigate as a family unit. Please prepare your student athlete for that potential, as there are just too many athletes when compared to the number of roster spots we have. 

    Again…an athlete MUST BE CLEARED TO PLAY THROUGH THE REGISTRATION PROCESS MENTIONED ABOVE BEFORE THEY CAN STEP ON THE FIELD. 

    Finally, attendance is required daily, Monday through Friday from Monday Aug 19th until the end of the season (October or November).
