Welcome Letter
-
We strive to be a caring, joyful, inclusive, and healthy learning community.
Welcome to Rosemont Ridge, home of the Coyotes! Thank you for visiting our website.
My name is Sara McCarney, and I am excited to be the principal at this incredible school. Before pursuing a leadership role in 2013, I was in the classroom with students for ten years and will always consider myself a teacher. As a longtime educator in the West Linn-Wilsonville School District, I am proud of our shared commitment to educating the whole child. We prioritize academic excellence, social-emotional learning, and preparing our students to pursue their dreams. When I am not at school, I love being a mother to my daughters, Grace (15) and Sophie (13), and spending time with my husband of 21 years.
The teachers at Rosemont love the uniqueness of middle school. Students this age undergo remarkable changes as they engage deeply in challenging learning experiences, explore new ideas, and learn more about who they are as people. Our team is devoted to cultivating a community where ALL students feel like they belong and are loved. Establishing solid relationships within our school community allows students to learn the skills they need, make new friends, and be willing to try new things.
At Rosemont, we believe in equity, which means that every person, regardless of race, ethnicity, nationality, gender, gender identity, disability, sexual orientation, religion, or socioeconomic status, will have access to the opportunities, resources, and support they need to attain their full potential. Our commitment is to remove institutional and structural barriers experienced by people based on race that impede access, opportunities, and results. I welcome all conversations about equity and inclusion and hope we engage in these efforts collectively.
Strong home-to-school partnerships are critical to the success of our students. Our PTO (Parent/Teacher Organization) is an active group that coordinates fun activities and events for our students and families. Rosemont Ridge is a caring community of students, staff, and families, and we look forward to our years together.
Sincerely,
Sara McCarney
