English Language Development
-
West Linn High School holds inclusion and equity at the center of our English Language Development (ELD) program. We strive to meet the needs of our English Language Learning (ELL) students and families, supporting them to credit-wholeness and rapid English proficiency. By working to retain a traditional schedule for students, we provide a bulk of our services within existing classrooms. Through a network of English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) certified content teachers, we utilize a content-based integrated model of practice. In addition, our program is designed to be flexible and capable of adapting to the needs of any specific student. West Linn High School students represent approximately 30 languages in total. Each year, we build in new resources and programs to support and celebrate this rich linguistic fabric of our school.
