Degrees and Certifications:

Welcome to Mr. Sobotta's Website!

Welcome! My name is Kyle Sobotta. I come to West Linn via a small town in eastern Oregon. I earned my BA in History at the University of Oregon, and received my Master in Teaching Degree from Whitworth University in Spokane, Washington. I grew up a huge Washington State Cougar and Gonzaga Bulldog fan. I'll credit my love for those teams on my grandpa, who attended both schools. So go Ducks, Cougs, Zags, and Mariners.
While in graduate school, I was blessed with the opportunity to briefly teach in Tanzania, Africa. I learned a lot and grew as an individual and educator, while experiencing a culture that was vastly different than mine. This culture was something that didn't take long for me to fall in love with. When I'm not dreaming about going back to Africa, I love to visit my family and friends, travel, play golf, duck hunt, run, and relax watching a good baseball or basketball game.
This is my 7th year at West Linn High School, and I couldn't be more excited to be back in the classroom. This year I will be teaching Civics & World History II. I am extremely excited to be here and I look forward to seeing the personal, academic, and professional growth of all the students in my class. My goal is to make sure that every student in my class is better prepared for life than when he/she entered my room. I'm honored to join a great school, community, and work with an unbelievable staff at WLHS. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask.
Please take a few moments to familiarize yourself with this website. I will continually add documents, links, features, and information as the year progresses. I am still learning how to navigate and construct this site to best serve my students. With that being said, I ask for your patience while I continue to make this site the best possible avenue for student success.
