    Queen Avis I

    Maid of Honor: Janie Carter; Attendants: Phyllis and Virginia Clark, Helen Hall, Hazle Perkins, Roma Confer, Cora Boeckman.
     
    The coronation ceremony was held in the auditorium this year.  A short program, featuring several numbers by the band, a short skit, "The Old Fashioned School", songs by the mixed glee clubs and the boys' quartet, tap dances accompanied by the jazz band, was enjoyed by the visiting eighth grade students.
     
     
    Directly following the assembly a track meet was held for the numerous grammar schools.  This was a May Day never to be forgotten, and a May Queen of whom the class of '31 shall be proud.
