Queen Helen II
Helen Spousta was the attractive queen who reigned over the Kingdom of West Linn this year. Elizabeth Sievers was the maid of honor to the queen. The six attendants were: Audrey Shipley, Jean Sterns, Fritzina Lyons, Dorothy Brandt, Geraldine Zivney, and Mildred Matheson.An assembly was held and the band played several numbers. Winford Warren, the student body president, welcomed the grammar school students and all the visitors of the day.The coronation took place outside where a flower-decked throne awaited the queen. The band played as the queen and her attendants ascended the throne where Winford Warren awaited to crown her as Queen Helen II.After the coronation a track meet was held for the pleasure of the grammar schools. After this the four high school classes participated in a track meet.
