The 2019 Capital Construction Bond continues to progress at a rapid pace with several projects nearing completion as the 2022-23 school year comes to a close. The Bond Oversight Committee met in late April to review the 2023 Quarter 1 Report and receive updates from the district’s Capital Bond Team.

Capital Construction Program Manager Remo Douglas informed the committee that as of April, over 76% of current funding, or $181.3 million had been committed. Of particular importance, the forecasted over/under for the 2019 Capital Bond is now balanced.

The Wilsonville High School Auditorium will seat 600 people.

Wilsonville High School Auditorium

The new 600 seat performing arts center at Wilsonville High School continues to near completion, and is expected to open alongside renovated CTE space in the fall. Recent activities include installation of auditorium architectural finishes, theatrical seating, stage rigging, building exterior metal cladding, window installation, and more.

New Athey Creek Middle School

Construction on the New Athey Creek Middle School  is expected to wrap up this summer in time for the start of the 2023-24 school year. Major plumbing, HVAC and electrical components are being implemented, exterior window frame installation, and street improvements on Willamette Falls Drive and Dollar street are well underway.

The new Athey Creek Middle School in West Linn will open for the 2023-24 school year.

Riverside High School

Riverside High School is also set to open its doors for the start of the 2023-24 school year. Construction work will take place this summer to convert the existing Athey Creek Middle School into a high school space. Office work has been completed, with renovation of existing office spaces into classrooms and Career and Technical Education spaces is planned for June.

Primary School at Frog Pond

The West Linn-Wilsonville School Board awarded a construction contract for the new primary school at Frog Pond in April. The contract will construct a starter primary school with plans for future expansion. The initial buildout will include all core facilities, security features, site circulation, outdoor play, stormwater management, and required street improvements.
