• Do you like to design, build, and solve problems?

If so, joining the Engineering Technology CTE program is the perfect fit for you! You will explore computer science, manufacturing and engineering careers. You will learn about the engineering process, computer science, and make projects using technology like CAD and Arduino kits. As you advance through classes, you will use state-of the art engineering and manufacturing tools to make your projects come to life. You learn how to use Computer Aided Design and Drafting (AutoCAD) software to design prototypes. Students can join the WLHS FIRST Robotics (FRC) team where you compete in the FIRST Robotics Competition.

Engineering technology CTE classes meet graduation requirements and help you gain skills for various careers in engineering and computer science. Even if you do not end up in this career path, you will gain valuable skills that will transfer to the path you end up choosing. Participating in a CTE program looks great on your resume and on college applications!

How to join the program: When you select your elective classes choose one of the introductory class(es) to see if it is a fit for you. If you like the class, then you can take the intermediate and advanced classes throughout high school. Students who complete 3 credits in the Engineering Technology CTE program receive a cord at graduation.
