Engineering Technology at West Linn High School
Do you like solving problems and building robots?
If so, joining the Engineering Technology CTE program is the perfect fit for you! You will explore computer science, manufacturing and engineering careers. You will learn about computer programming and the engineering design process. As you advance through classes, you use state-of the art engineering and manufacturing tools. You learn how to use Computer Aided Design and Drafting (AutoCAD) software to design prototypes. Students can join the WLHS FIRST Robotics (FRC) team where you compete in the First Robotics Competition.
Engineering technology CTE classes meet graduation requirements and help you gain skills for various careers in engineering and computer science. Even if you do not end up in this career path, you will gain valuable skills that will transfer to the path you end up choosing. Participating in a CTE program looks great on your resume and on college applications!
Students who complete 3 credits in the Engineering Technology CTE program receive a special CTE cord at graduation.
