• Do you like to design, build, and solve problems?

If so, joining the Engineering Technology CTE program is the perfect fit for you! You will learn about the engineering process and make projects using technology like CAD. As you advance through classes, you will use state-of-the-art engineering and manufacturing tools to make your projects come to life. You learn how to use Computer Aided Design and Drafting (AutoCAD) software to design and manufacture prototypes. Students can join the FIRST Robotics (FRC) team 1425 and compete in the FIRST Robotics Competition.

How to join the program: Engineering technology CTE classes meet graduation requirements and help you gain skills for various careers in engineering and manufacturing. Even if you do not end up in this career path, you will gain valuable skills that will transfer to the path you end up choosing. Participating in a CTE program looks great on your resume and on college applications! When you select your elective classes choose one of the introductory class(es) to see if it is a fit for you. If you like the class, then you can take the intermediate and advanced classes throughout high school. Students who complete 3 credits in the Engineering Technology CTE program receive a cord at graduation.

    What is a pre-apprenticeship certificate?
This program is in the process of being registered with the Bureau of Labor & Industries (BOLI) as a manufacturing pre-apprenticeship program. If approved by BOLI, starting in the 25-26 school year students who meet certain requirements can earn a pre-apprenticeship certificate in manufacturing. Students who graduate with a pre-apprenticeship certificate are more competitive applicants when applying to the NW Willamette JATC Manufacturing Apprenticeship program.  Apprenticeship after high school is a great way to earn money while learning on the job. This can help jumpstart your career in manufacturing with no debt.
