Prerequisite: Introduction to Digital Arts

Digital Illustration and Animation is a year-long course that spends time building skills in drawing, visual development, and animation process. Students will build their own illustration skills as they relate the layout hierarchy and presentation. After honing these skills, students will learn how to take their stills in illustration and translate them to animation. Students will learn the 12 principles of animation, the various techniques and tools of animation, and applications. Class will bring attention to historical impacts of illustration, animation, and trends throughout art media. Students will get the opportunity to work with various software including, but not limited to; Krita, and Adobe Animate, Adobe Photoshop.
