DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY (5800)

Prerequisite: Introduction to Digital Arts

This course covers all aspects of modern digital photography, including using and controlling a digital SLR camera, downloading images to the computer, and editing photos in Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom. Students will learn the basics of photographic and artistic expression through a series of shooting assignments and skill-building exercises that emphasize elements and principles of design, composition, lighting, and special themes and genres. Upon successfully completing this course, students will understand how to capture, manage, manipulate, and share compelling digital photographs. This course will allow students the opportunity to incorporate technology and art. Students will have the chance to enhance, manipulate and combine their own photographs using Adobe Photoshop while learning techniques of what makes a successful photograph. Students will have access to the school's digital cameras.
