This is an introduction to acting technique emphasizing the basic skills required of a performer.  Through self and collaborative exploration within focused units, students will develop skills in basic elements of theatrical acting: stagecraft vocab, voice, movement, stage combat, text analysis, improvisation, and scene performance.  Students will also be required to earn Outside Experience Points – watching a school or professional performance, reading an acting technique book, reading a play, and so on – and write reflections in essay form about their experiences.  Although reflected in students’ grades, Outside Experience Points are extra-curricular in nature.  Students will be assessed and evaluated through rubrics, self-reflection, group-reflection, and unit exams
