Program at a Glance

  • Do you like nature and learning about science?

If so, joining the Environmental Science CTE program is the perfect fit for you! You will learn how humans impact the environment and ways we can work together to solve these environmental problems. As you advance through classes, you will learn about geology, ecology, plant and bird identification, and sustainable agriculture. You will have a chance to work alongside real scientists and attend amazing nature-based field trips! Many CTE students also participate in the CTE Environmental Science club and participate in many nature outings. Check out the club's website.

Environmental Science CTE classes meet graduation requirements and help you gain skills for various careers in environmental science. Even if you do not end up in this career path, you will gain valuable skills that will transfer to the path you end up choosing. Participating in a CTE program looks great on your resume and on college applications!

How to join the program: When you select your elective class(es) choose one of the introductory class(es) to see if it is a fit for you. If you like the class, then you can take the intermediate and advanced classes throughout high school. Students who complete 3 credits in the Environmental Science CTE program receive a cord at graduation.
