publishing the school paper. Led by Jean Hartman, editor, and Gordon Putz,
manager, and under the supervision of Mrs. F. C. Hull, they found time to not
only edit the Amplifier but also to attend a journalism conference in Eugene early
in the year. The staff also sent two writers, Jean Hartman and Eleanor Bietschek,
to the Pacific University Journalism Contest. Jean Hartman has also won an award
which entitles her to work on the Emerald Staff of the University of Oregon.

1949 Girls' League
Lois Patterson, Girls' League Room Chairman; Janet Heisler, President; Colleen McCandless, Secretary; Bevalee Schroeder, Vice President.
The Girls' League had a very successful and active year. Besides sponsoring many dances, a pie and cake sale was held to raise money to send C.A.R.E. packages overseas. A Father and Daughter banquet was the highlight of the year. Their annual Cotton Ball and Mother and Daughter Tea proved to be unquestionable successes. A joint movie with the Boys' Club was also sponsored.
